Yaphet Kotto & Toni Kotto Divorced, Children, Joint Family Tree & History
Groundbreaking
Kotto was the first black man to play a villain when he portrayed Dr. Kananga in the bond film 'Live & Let Die' in 1973. He was also the first black man to kill a white man in a major Hollywood movie - the film 'The Liberation of L. B. Jones'.
Kotto claims he can trace his family back to Cameroonian royalty, and that he also has a connection to the British Royal family. In his book "Royalty" he claims he is the great-great-grandson of Queen victoria, following a liaison between Princess Nakande of Cameroon and Prince Edward VII. However, this has been denied by Buckingham Palace.
Kotto states that growing up black and jewish in the Bronx resulted in quite a lot of fist fights on a Friday! His father converted to Judaism in Cameroon before emigrating to Harlem in the 1920s, and changing his name from Njoki Manga Bell to Abraham Kotto.
